(Gulf Today) Art of imaginative explorations and contemplative meditations

The Zayed University Student Artwork 2017 – 2019 exhibition was inaugurated by Dr Behjat Alyousuf, Acting Vice-president, Zayed University, in Jan. last, where students guided guests through the space and discussed in detail the inspiration of their works.

In collaboration with Sulty Events and Habtoor Palace LXR Hotels and Resorts, it provided a diverse look at the artworks that students from the College of Arts and Creative Enterprises (CACE) had completed during the past few years in a variety of media, including but not limited to, painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, sculpture and video. The works also brought students who are resident between the various Emirates and attend either the Dubai or Abu Dhabi campuses of the university.

Participants included Abeer Ahmed Alzarooni, Afnan Abdulrahim Mohamed, Aisha Hashem Almessabi, Aliyah Adel Alawadhi, Alya Ismail Alblooshi, Hadeel Ahmed Alshalan, Hind Bin Jarsh, Khawla Ali Al Marzooqi, Maitha Abdulla Almarzooqi, Maitha Masood Al Suwaidi, Mariam Saeed Aldarmaki, Maryam Alsayed Alhashemi, Mira Mohammed, Moza Mohammad Alfalasi, Rodha Nasser Almazrouei, Salama Hussain Khan, Salama Saif Aldhaheri, Salama Saif Alfalasi, Sarah Almatrooshi, Shawq Alkatheeri and Yasra Zain Alzubaidi.

Several students used metaphor and icons to convey their ideas and contemplation of life and their surrounding environment. Aliyah Adel Alawadhi captured various building facades through a series of monoprints in “Brittle” (2019).
